The future of healthcare is exciting, and we're seeing this pivotal change. We're starting to think about value and quality at the same time, which is a unique thing from previous iterations of healthcare.

Dr. David LaMond is a nutrition and prevention expert, successful medical entrepreneur, and a primary care physician in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He is affiliated with Pardee UNC Healthcare-Hendersonville and has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years.

Dr. LaMond operates several successful medical practices — including Blue Sky MD — along with a consulting company that helps physicians and medical practitioners operate successful independent practices. Drawing from his foundation in family medicine, Dr. LaMond developed innovative medical principles behind Blue Sky MD’s concept of total patient care, which has resulted in multiple appearances on INC Magazine’s 500|5000 list as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States.

Blue Sky MD was founded in 2008 with the goal of providing safe and effective preventative healthcare through medical weight loss and hormone therapy. Currently, they have nine locations in the state of North Carolina and have helped hundreds of patients down the path to better health.

They take pride in serving a wide variety of individuals while taking a consultative approach to finding solutions that work for each individual’s unique set of needs. Their exceptional team of medical weight loss doctors, advanced registered nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, behavioral therapists, and wellness coaches truly care about their patients’ progress — and are passionate about what they do.

The great thing about Pearl Health... is the ability to gain attribution and leverage their desire to implement a technological platform. That's going to enable our team to better identify those patients that are at risk and... intervene sooner than later so that the outcomes are positive.

Part of the reason I got into medicine is [that] I wanted to be more on the preventative end of helping patients and following patients’ journeys, rather than just being able to prescribe what they needed to do and having an exit strategy.

Under the new Pearl model, we’ve been able to utilize care teams more effectively, and we get credit for all of the activities that we do.
