Jeffrey De Flavio, MD is co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Pearl Health. He is an Entrepreneur in Residence at AlleyCorp and the Founder of Groups: Recover Together, the national leader in value-based care for treatment of opiate addiction. Dr. De Flavio’s expertise is in value-based care, clinical redesign and building early-stage companies. He received his M.D. from the Dartmouth College of Medicine and his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Michael is co-founder and CEO of Pearl Health. Michael served as an early employee and Vice President at Oscar Health, having built their pre-revenue Insurance Plan Sales and Network Contracting systems. He most recently managed the company’s largest P&L at +$2.5B.
Prior to Oscar, Michael worked for Bridgewater Associates in the company’s Research, Client Service, and Recruiting departments. While at Bridgewater, he was the Head of Research Analytics where he reported to the CEO and Head of Research. In 2009 he successfully sold DormAid, a college service company, which he launched and ran while he was a student at Harvard.
He is the recipient of Columbia’s Feldberg Fellowship, where he received his M.B.A. He received his A.B. from Harvard University.
Ankit Patel is co-founder and President of Pearl Health. He was previously the Vice President of Provider Alignment at Clover Health, building programs and software to engage providers to achieve better health outcomes at lower costs. Prior to joining Clover, he was a Senior Advisor at the CMS Innovation Center, where he worked on various value-based payment models including the Pioneer ACO program and the Maryland All-Payer Waiver. He began his career as a health care attorney for an academic medical center.
He received his B.A. in International Studies at the University of South Carolina – Columbia and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jennifer Rabiner is Chief Product Officer at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl Health, Jennifer served as a product leader at Hint Health and athenahealth. Her product experience spans value-based care in both the health system and independent provider segments, as well as direct primary care. Jennifer’s experience also includes healthcare revenue cycle process optimization and system implementation at Deloitte Consulting and Triage Consulting Group, as well as pharmaceutical reimbursement strategy and operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals.
She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley.
Gabriel is Chief of Staff at Pearl Health. He was previously a leader on the Product team at Centivo. While there, he led market launches in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Michigan, in partnership with 14 regional health systems.
Prior to Centivo, Gabriel was an early employee at Oscar Health Insurance, where he served in a number of roles including Director of Product Operations, Chief of Staff, Interim Head of Marketing and in a Special Projects role on the Data Analytics team.
Gabriel received his A.B. in Philosophy from Harvard University. He wrote his honors thesis under the advisement of T.M. Scanlon, in which he argued for an alternative moral framework for justifying informed consent in clinical medicine.
Steven Duque is Chief Growth Officer at Pearl Health. He was previously Vice President of Marketing at Catalant Technologies, where he partnered with cross-functional company leaders to design and execute Catalant’s go-to-market strategy and messaging, build brand awareness through thought leadership and category creation, and enable sales teams and product-led growth to efficiently generate more than 40% year-over-year revenue growth during his tenure. Prior to Catalant, Steven served as Vice President of Product and Marketing at Happie, in addition to serving in various marketing, sales, and evangelism leadership roles at Intuit and Bullhorn, among others.
Steven received his A.B. in Philosophy (primary concentration) and Sociology (secondary field) from Harvard University.
Sujai is Provider Growth Associate at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, he co-founded NeoHealth, a startup focused on developing pharmacy management software for healthcare workers in sub-Saharan Africa. NeoHealth has won numerous grants and awards including 3rd place at the Michigan Business Challenge and 1st place at the China Business Challenge. Sujai also started a student organization called MedLaunch which designs assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. MedLaunch has expanded to two colleges and created 10+ technologies to assist various community partners.
Sujai is passionate about combining his experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, and design in order to address inefficiencies in the healthcare system. He received his degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan.
Lana Cohen is the Senior Director of Product at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Lana spent over seven years at athenahealth as a Product Leader in the Platform division working on integration strategies and patient engagement solutions.
She is passionate about enabling physicians with the right information and tools at the right time and place to achieve better outcomes — and in empowering patients to be active agents in their care. At athena, she led the rollout of “login with athenahealth” credential for patients across the athena network and numerous patient and clinician-facing app integrations, including Apple Health and several Payor integrations. Prior to her MBA, she led Product for an early-stage fintech company.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration, with a Healthcare certificate, from the MIT Sloan School of Management and B.A. in English from Clark University.
Kelly is the Director of Product Partnerships and Operations at Pearl Health. She was previously at Clover Health, where she managed the Strategic Technologies Portfolio of programs for the organization. While at Clover, she led several system implementations and focused on optimizations of the technology ecosystem.
Prior to Clover, Kelly held a number of roles at Arcadia.io, from implementation and account management, to sales engineer. She spent the early part of her career in healthcare consulting, gaining exposure to care delivery systems, safety net hospitals, and government application programs. These experiences ignited her passion for public health and health policy, and her interest in helping physicians better serve patients.
Kelly holds a Master of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University.
Holly is Director of Growth Strategy & Operations at Pearl Health. She previously worked in Strategy & Financial Planning for Mount Sinai Health Partners, where she partnered with cross-functional leadership to design and implement primary care physician incentive programs tied to value-based care outcomes, created funds flow distribution models for shared savings generated in value-based contracts, and contributed to multi-year strategic planning efforts.
Holly also built out the financial operations for Mount Sinai Health Partners from the ground up, and led the annual build of the business’s $50MM+ operating budget in partnership with company leadership. Prior to Sinai, she worked at an investment bank on the Healthcare Coverage team. Holly received her B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College.
Russell Fowles is Head of Technical Operations & Security at Pearl Health. Russell comes to Pearl with expertise in building and scaling security-focused Technical Operations teams from the ground up at high growth companies. He has over a decade of experience in his field and is passionate about securing technical infrastructure in a way that does not impede innovation.
Prior to Pearl, Russell was Head of Technical Operations at TrialSpark. As the first Technical Operations team member, he laid the foundation for long term growth through the deployment of scalable systems, automation, and workflows. Before joining TrialSpark, Russell was an early employee at Oscar, where he served as the first Director of Information Technology. Other previous experience includes Spotify and adMarketplace where he worked in similar roles.
Although they’ve seen better days, Russell is a die-hard fan of the University of South Carolina football team. A native South Carolinian, Russell moved to New York City a little over a decade ago. He currently resides in Park Slope with his wife and two sons and can usually be found chasing the older one on his scooter in Prospect Park.
Charles is Senior Market Success Manager at Pearl Health. He previously worked in Strategy and Innovation at naviHealth where he designed and launched new programs in post-acute care for Medicare Advantage customers. He was also responsible for working with external partners and exploring collaboration opportunities for naviHealth. Prior to naviHealth and while in business school, Charles worked for two healthcare-focused venture funds, identifying and executing on early-stage investment opportunities in healthcare services and IT.
The son of a physician and a nurse, Charles has a passion for improving the patient and provider experience. He received his B.A. in Government and History from the University of Virginia and MBA from Vanderbilt University. Outside of the office you can find him jamming with his family band.
Luis is Head of Engineering at Pearl Health. He was previously Head of Mortgage Engineering at HomeLight, assuming that role after HomeLight acquired Eave Home Lending, where he served as a founding engineer and subsequently CTO. At HomeLight/Eave, Luis built an underwriting platform that leverages modern technology to dramatically improve the mortgage experience. Prior to Eave, Luis was an early engineer at Oscar Health, eventually leading the Core Insurance Systems team, which empowered internal teams to navigate the complexity of healthcare and make a difference in members’ lives. Prior to that, Luis held leading engineering and architect roles at Zynga and T. Rowe Price.
He received his B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Emma is a Staff Software Engineer at Pearl Health. She previously worked at edX, where she led a team of engineers to maintain the business-critical ecommerce component. While there, she redesigned ecommerce monitoring and alerting to focus on business impact with the goal of alerting when, and only when, a business critical issue arose. Prior to edX, Emma worked at Catalant and Happy Software, where she established a new product line, Rehab Pro Direct.
Emma holds a bachelors in Computer Science from Brandeis University.
Zack is a Provider Growth Associate at Pearl Health. Zack previously worked as a healthcare strategy consultant at Guidehouse, advising hospitals and health systems on network and growth strategy. Prior to Guidehouse, Zack spent time as a growth strategy intern at Aledade focused on primary care ACO development and expansion.
Zack received his B.S.B.A in Healthcare Management and Entrepreneurship from Washington University in St. Louis.
Vishwa is a Product Manager at Pearl Health. He previously worked at athenahealth where he enabled the providers to easily integrate their mission critical devices with athenahealth’s EHR by partnering with manufacturers. While at athenahealth, he was also responsible for a developer productivity tool that greatly cut down the time for code deployment.
He received his MBA and MS in Information Systems from Boston University and Bachelors in Telecommunications Engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology, India
Peter Jamieson is the Head of Data Science at Pearl Health. Peter has extensive experience leading data science teams in both the healthcare and financial services industries. Prior to joining Pearl, he ran the DS team for Poloniex, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, focusing on issues related to security, risk, and financial performance. Before that, he worked as a consultant with BCG Gamma, Boston Consulting Group’s data science and advanced analytics practice, supporting clients in the pharmaceutical and insurance verticals, among others. In addition, he spent several years overseeing athenahealth’s population health and patient engagement data science efforts. He is passionate about helping businesses leverage cutting-edge technologies to make smarter decisions and serve their customers better.
Peter holds a BA in Mathematics, magna cum laude from Carleton College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Tim Kholad is Software Engineer at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Tim worked for a consultancy agency based in Los Angeles, where he was building test-driven web and mobile application for an AI-powered customer support company.
Tim holds a BA in Spanish and Computational Lingustics from the Minsk State Linguistics University.
David is Head of Strategic Finance at Pearl Health. David previously worked as an investment banker at Moelis & Company, advising companies across a broad range of industries on mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and strategic decision making. Prior to Moelis, David served as an Associate at HSBC focused on credit and corporate banking services.
David holds an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.S.B.A. in Finance from The Ohio State University.
Alana Levy is a Senior Product Manager at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Alana spent six years at Flatiron Health, working in Product Operations, Program Management, and Sales. She was responsible for developing and launching oncology software products that helped deliver quality care to cancer patients, and closed several of Flatiron’s largest software deals with community oncology practices around the country.
Alana was previously on the founding team of Crediyo, a healthcare technology startup that aimed to simplify the financial experience for patients and improve payment outcomes for providers. Prior to Crediyo, Alana served as a Sales Consultant at Oscar Health.
Alana holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, an MPH from the University of Edinburgh, and a BA from Cornell University. A former Division I track and field athlete, she now runs competitively for Brooklyn Track Club’s Performance Team and is hoping to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Team Trials in the marathon.
Joslyn is an Operations Associate at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, she worked at Marathon Health on the Organizational Development Team, implementing process improvement for new hires. Joslyn also has experience documenting processes and implementing new Electronic Health Systems in home health companies.
Joslyn’s passion is where healthcare can meet technology and improve patient outcomes. She holds a BA in Health Administration from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and a MAS in Health Informatics from Arizona State University. Outside of the office, you can find Joslyn trying a new restaurant or lifting weights in the gym.
Molly is the Executive Office Manager at Pearl Health. Aside from leading the day-to-day operations of the executive office, she provides leverage for recruiting, events and team operations. Prior to joining Pearl Health, Molly’s career has been focused in wealth / investment management and luxury hospitality, eventually merging the two in a unique role encompassing her passions for project management, administrative support, event planning, and fostering a healthy work environment.
Molly received her B.A. in Communication Studies from University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Michael Monsegur is Head of DCE Partnerships and Operations at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Michael served as the Senior Director of the Medicare ACO Programs at Steward Health Care Network where he ran the largest MSSP in the country. His value-based care experience stems from achieving improved quality outcomes at lower costs for over 160,000 Medicare FFS patients annually. Prior to MSSP, he managed Steward’s other CMS risk models, most notably the NGACO and BPCIA. Prior to Steward, he worked at a boutique healthcare management consulting firm as an analyst and program manager.
Michael received his B.A. in Economics and his M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Elizabeth is the Network Development Lead at Pearl Health. Prior to Pearl, she worked at UnitedHealthcare, where she partnered with providers to deliver successful outcomes in value based care and risk arrangements. She also managed workstreams surrounding contract execution and fulfillment while acting as liaison for hospital and physician groups in downstate New York.
At Oscar Health Insurance, Elizabeth managed the out-of-network contracting process across all markets, prior to transitioning to a focus on engagement with hospital partners. Before working in managed care, she oversaw business development and recruiting operations at Premier Talent where she partnered with early stage companies to develop both agile workforces, and the Operations, HR, Administrative, and Sales talent required to support growth and expansion.
Elizabeth received her B.A. in English Language & Literature from Southeastern University.
Nellie Ponarul is a Data Scientist at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Nellie worked at Ankura Consulting where she performed data analytics on large healthcare claims and financial datasets for class action lawsuits. She also worked as a research assistant in the Onnela Lab at Harvard where she worked with smartphone data for biomedical research and oversaw collaboration with clinical research teams.
Nellie holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from University of California, Los Angeles and a MS in Health Data Science from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
Stephen is Vice President of Recruiting at Pearl Health. He previously led Talent Acquisition and HR Service Delivery at VillageMD, where he oversaw the hiring of over 1000 new employees across Technology, Clinical, and Corporate departments.
Prior to VillageMD, Stephen worked at FTD Companies where he managed technical recruitment, and at CyberCoders where he supported technology startups on the agency side as an Executive Recruiter.
Stephen received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters Degree from California Institute of the Arts, and most recently a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University.
Lauren Prial is Head of Network Operations at Pearl Health.
Prior to joining Pearl, Lauren was at Oscar Health where she held a number of strategy and operations leadership roles, including building Oscar’s Payment Integrity program from the ground-up. Most recently, Lauren led strategy, special projects, and business operations for Oscar’s Member Programs (Virtual Care, Population Health, Pharmacy, and Behavioral Health). She is passionate about tackling high-impact problems, building new things, and developing people.
Outside of work, Lauren loves to cook, cycle, and spend time with her husband and their energetic dog, Benji.
Lauren received her B.A. in English with a minor in History from the University of Virginia.
Greg Rakas is the Vice President of Sales at Pearl Health. Greg was previously the third overall employee at Health iPASS and paved the way in sales driving towards a successful acquisition by Sphere. Prior to that Greg was in similar roles that led to successful start-up acquisitions of BetterDoctor and ePatientFinder. He jumpstarted his career in healthcare by joining ZocDoc as their 15th overall employee. There he helped launch several markets, worked on the formation of the inside sales team, sales playbook, and mid-market/enterprise division.
Greg received his B.A. in Speech Communication at Illinois State University while also obtaining minors in English and Psychology.
Michael is a rising Junior at Harvard College studying government with a secondary in Global Health & Health Policy. Prior to coming to Pearl, Michael worked as a strategy intern with Philippines-based AC Health last fall. There he managed a conglomerate-wide COVID-19 case database of 40,000+ employees, independent contractors, and external partners which compiled into a daily report. Furthermore, he conducted Market Competitive Intelligence for telehealth application, HealthNow, to provide insights into the landscape of telehealth in the SEA market. Michael is interested in working at the nexus of technology and healthcare reform to drive positive health outcomes.
Jared is a multidisciplinary design leader serving as Pearl Health’s Director of Brand Design. He was previously employed as the manager of design for a global economics consulting firm, where he led a successful corporate rebrand and elevated the quality of digital marketing operations, client communications, and trial demonstratives. He has partnered with many different groups on a variety of major initiatives involving data analysis and visualization, having created several campaigns involving interactive dashboards and custom reporting for clients and general audiences.
Jared received a B.S. in Communications from Fitchburg State University
Justus comes to Pearl as an expert in practice transformation, value-based contracting, and primary care operations. Throughout his career he’s worked with over 300 independent physicians, helping them deploy technology, streamline workflows, & achieve success in value based contracts.
Previous to Pearl Justus was a market operations lead for Stellar Health, managing operations & supporting product development across both payer & provider relationships. His previous experience also includes Clover Health, where he was a leader in the launch of the Clover Assistant platform, and Cigna-Healthspring / CareAllies in Nashville, TN.
Depending on the season, outside of work you’ll find Justus either hiking in the Adirondacks or skiing on the West coast.
As Network Development Manager, Sean Ryder plays a key role in the growth and support of Pearl Health’s provider partnerships.
Prior to Pearl, Sean was at Centene Corporation, contracting in the Value-Based Care and Behavioral Health Department. He started in the insurance industry at Oscar Health, becoming the top broker in the Sales Department before leading the Direct Contracting team in Tempe, AZ.
Sean also worked in value-based care during his time at Trividia Health, partnering with ACOs to integrate software into call centers to improve HEDIS Measures. Afterwards, he created a bundled payment model for vascular and orthopedic surgeons at a San Francisco-based prosthetic startup, LIM Innovations.
Sean attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT where he received a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science.
Samuel is Senior Data Engineer at Pearl Health. He was previously a data engineer at IBM Canada, where he helped to build data pipelines to integrate customer and product usage data to provide a 360 view of the customers. Prior to IBM Canada, Samuel worked as data engineer at Toronto Star, and Scotiabank. These data engineering experiences in different industries have given Samuel exposure to different types of data, as well as different data stacks, from Hadoop to data warehouse on cloud, and DevOps tools like Kubernetes, Docker and Jenkins.
Samuel received both his Bachelors of Applied Science and Masters of Engineering at the University of Toronto.
James Young is Principal UX Designer at Pearl Health. James comes to Pearl with expertise in split attention and high cognitive load users. He has over a decade of experience designing in medical technology systems, both in origin and iteration. Throughout his career he has worked within Clinical User Experience and Patient Experience, helping deploy technology, streamline workflows, and achieve success in patient experience.
Prior to Pearl, James was Senior Director of Experiences for Bravado Health, where he supported product design and development across both clinical and patient-facing applications. His previous experience includes Deloitte, Press-Ganey, CareSight and Humana.
James is an avid supporter of animal welfare causes, mentorship and Veteran assistance.
Kevin Ryan is an entrepreneur and investor in New York. He is the Founder and CEO of AlleyCorp, an incubator and venture capital fund that is responsible for founding some of the most transformative companies in New York, including MongoDB, Business Insider, GILT, Zola, Nomad Health, and CoEdition among others. Earlier in his career, Kevin helped to grow DoubleClick first as President and then as CEO, ultimately leading the company to IPO in 1998 and acquisition by Google in 2007.
Kevin serves on the Board of Mercy Corps, is Vice Chairman of The Partnership for New York City, is a member of the CFR Committee on Foreign Affairs, is on the Board of TECH:NYC and is Director Emeritus for Humans Right Watch. Kevin previously served on the boards of the Yale Corporation and INSEAD.
Dr. David Ferrucci is the award-winning AI researcher who started and led the IBM Watson team from its inception in 2006 to its celebrated success in 2011 when Watson defeated the greatest Jeopardy players of all time. From 2011 through 2012, Dr. Ferrucci pioneered Watson’s applications in health which helped lay the technical foundation for a new Healthcare Division at IBM. In 2013, Dr. Ferrucci joined Bridgewater Associates to explore applications of AI in markets and management.
Dr. Ferrucci’s more than 25 years in AI and his passion to see computers fluently think, learn, and communicate inspired him to found Elemental Cognition in 2015. Elemental Cognition is an AI company focused on deep natural language understanding and explores methods of learning that result in explicable models of intelligence.
Dr. Ferrucci has 50+ patents and published papers in the areas of AI, Automated Reasoning, NLP, Intelligent Systems Architectures, Automatic Text Generation, and Automatic Question-Answering.
Since 2005, Margit Pearson has been managing over $5 billion in investments as well as charitable giving for a few individuals. She has invested directly in over a dozen companies in the healthcare and biotech industry in their early stages: seed, Series A, B and C rounds.
She has been CEO/President of both NYSE and startup companies after living and working in Latin America, Scandinavia, Europe and Australia for Mckinsey and Company.
Margit graduated from Harvard Business School in 1975.
Lauren is the Chief Operating Officer of Kirkoswald Asset Management, a global macro hedge fund with a focus on emerging markets. She leads Kirkoswald’s strategic business initiatives to ensure that best in class practices are implemented for the global team. As part of this role, she has oversight of the marketing strategy, human capital, compliance, public relations, information technology and cybersecurity. Previously, Lauren was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank where she spent 12 years in a variety of roles within the Equities division in both NYC and London.
Lauren earned her MBA from Columbia Business School in 2015 as a Feldberg Fellow and she graduated from Princeton University in 2007 with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering.
She enjoys volunteering for all three of her alma maters in a variety of capacities: fundraising, interviewing prospective students, organizing career and social gatherings, mentoring students and recent graduates, and fostering engagement across generations and geographies. Lauren also serves on the Board of Inspiring Girls USA, an organization that connects girls with women role models to introduce them to the full variety of careers and options in life.
Dr. Vinod Mitta was an early employee and Vice President at Oscar Health Insurance, having built their population health and pharmacy programs.
Prior to Oscar, Dr. Mitta was a consultant for The Global Fund, Bain & Company, and the US State Department, leading research efforts on the effectiveness of international health financing methods. His work has been featured in major media outlets including Wired, Public Television and JAMA. He completed his clinical residency training in Preventive Medicine & Public Health at Mount Sinai Hospital and is a practicing medical director with Oscar Medical Group.
He is a graduate of The Harvard School of Public Health, the University of Southern California, and the London School of Economics. He is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations.
Cole Morris is a health tech entrepreneur building life-changing devices at Clear, where he is a co-founder, COO and CFO.
He was previously Vice President of Data at Oscar Health Insurance. There, he led a team of more than 30 data scientists spanning medical economics, product analytics, payment integrity, clinical data science, and business and network analytics. Prior to leading Oscar’s data efforts, he was Director of Care Routing at Oscar, focused on bending the cost curve by better matching Oscar members to high value doctors.
Before venturing into healthcare, Cole was an Investment Team Lead at Bridgewater Associates, where he led a team of Investment Associates providing analytics to some of Bridgewater’s largest clients and wrote investment algorithms in the Research department.
Cole graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, summa cum laude and phi beta kappa.
Patrick Mauro is a data scientist enabling Pearl Health’s mission by creating a quantitative framework around the complex problem of efficiently delivering high-quality healthcare.
Patrick learned the craft of statistical analysis and distributed computing while working as a high-frequency trader at Hudson River Trading, where he led a team trading US and European equities. Thereafter, Patrick has consulted in a variety of industries, from entertainment to food rescue to biomedical engineering. He is passionate about performing sophisticated analyses of complex data sets in order to deliver actionable business insights and architect advanced computing systems. When not combing over data, Patrick also works as a mountain guide, where he delves into a far less quantitative but far more tangible world of risk analysis.
Patrick holds a S.M. in Electrical Engineering and an A.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Harvard College.
John is co-founder and Managing Director at Floating Point, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on the intersection of technology and complex, highly-regulated industries.
Prior to launching Floating Point, John was Chief Risk Officer and a member of the founding team at Oscar Health. As one of the two longest-serving C-level executives of the firm, he helped lead Oscar from inception to nearly 500,000 members and over two billion dollars in annual revenue.
John began his career as a quantitative researcher at Bridgewater Associates, where he was one of fewer than 20 investment professionals responsible for developing the firm’s core macroeconomic trading models. John holds a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Yale University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Fay Rotenberg Bush is the CEO of Firefly Health. She brings dynamic experience as a Healthcare CEO, Venture Investor, Founder, and Developer with a background in distributed systems to her role on Pearl’s Advisory Board.
Prior to Firefly, Fay worked with Premji Invest to initiate their U.S. healthcare growth equity investments, including Devoted Health and Grand Rounds. Fay co-founded and served as CEO of Mymo, a healthcare technology company that bridges the gap between excess physician capacity and patient demand. Before co-founding Mymo, Fay was a Partner at LG’s venture fund where she invested in health and enterprise software companies and spearheaded the firm’s activity as a Limited partner in early-stage venture funds. She also led the first product spin-off of AetherWorks, a software-defined storage solution for healthcare and finance companies. She began her career as an Analyst and Associate for Venture funds in MA, CA, and DC.
Fay attended Georgetown University and Phillips Academy Andover. She’s actively involved as an Advisor or Board Member of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Cornell Tech, Phillips Academy Andover, Masschallenge, Girls Who Code, and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
Dr. David Berg is President and Co-Founder of Redirect Health, a national healthcare innovation company and key Pearl Health Anchor Partner. Prior to co-founding Redirect Health, Dr. Berg established and maintained successful healthcare clinics both in Canada and the United States.
At Redirect Health, Dr. Berg leverages decades of healthcare leadership experience to make healthcare simple and affordable for businesses across the country. Dr. Berg is the author of The Business Owner’s Guide to Ending the Fight with Healthcare, a how-to guide that helps business owners leverage healthcare as a competitive advantage. In 2018, the Phoenix Business Journal honored Dr. Berg with the “Healthcare Heroes Innovator Award” for creating a transformative healthcare member experience that eliminates barriers for people to get affordable healthcare. Dr. Berg was also the finalist for three best-in-class awards at the 2018 World Health Care Congress in Washington DC.
Dr. Berg holds degrees in Physics and Biology from the University of Toronto as well as a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
