Pearl Health Hires General Counsel Jon Goldin to Accelerate Access to Value-Based Care

Pearl Health Hires General Counsel Jon Goldin to Accelerate Access to Value-Based Care

Pearl Health, a leading physician enablement technology and value-based care marketplace company, is thrilled to announce a strategic addition to its executive team. Jonathan E. Goldin, a seasoned lawyer and operations executive, is assuming the General Counsel role at Pearl.

Goldin comes to Pearl from an international consulting firm, where he served as both the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of its U.S. Financial Advisory business. Goldin previously practiced law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen, and Katz, and served as a judicial law clerk. He holds undergraduate and law degrees, both with honors, from Harvard University.

“Capitation payment programs, paired with a focus on maintaining quality and reducing total-cost-of-care, can incentivize primary care doctors to practice the sort of holistic medicine that has historically made them so essential in the delivery of optimal patient care,” said Goldin. “I am thrilled to join Pearl’s industry-leading team that affords providers the resources to realize the benefits of these programs, both for their patients and for themselves.”

“The value-based payment landscape is still incredibly dynamic as it evolves from its nascent stages,” explained Pearl CEO Michael Kopko. “This truth was highlighted by last week’s news around the evolution of Medicare’s Direct Contracting model into the ACO REACH model. Adding someone with Jon’s skills and experience will enable Pearl to remain at the cutting edge, as we work to maximize the benefits we bring to our provider partners and their patients, while also reducing the administrative and regulatory burden of practicing medicine in our country.”

Pearl Executive Chairman Dr. Jeffrey De Flavio, of venture firm AlleyCorp, commented, “Jon brings world-class legal talent and a keen commercial sense to Pearl’s outstanding leadership team.” Pearl Board member Dr. Vineeta Agarwala, of venture firm Andreessen Horowitz, added, “A hire of Jon’s caliber reflects and amplifies Pearl’s best-in-class management team, which is a key factor in why we believe so strongly in Pearl. A legal mind like Jon’s will help the team navigate the complexities of building a value-based care marketplace.”

Pearl Health provides a first-of-its-kind marketplace for value-based programs, like Medicare’s new ACO REACH Model (formerly known as Direct Contracting), and an innovative physician enablement platform to help physicians succeed in value-based programs.

Primary care providers (PCPs) partner with Pearl to get simplified access to advanced payment models support to succeed in shared savings arrangements, and user-friendly technology with world-class analytics that enable clinicians to deliver quality care at a lower cost to the patients who need it most.

PCPs use Pearl’s reimbursement methodologies, software, and marketplace partners to stabilize revenue and enable informed clinical decisions, all while removing the administrative burden of participating in value-based programs.

Pearl leverages the collective experience of its team of doctors, technologists, data scientists and health plan specialists to enable its provider partners to deliver better care and reduce health systems costs, while keep earnings high and helping restore provider well-being.
